The Liaison Office of China Olympic Committee in Lausanne Officially Opened

The liaison office of China Olympic Committee (COC) in Lausanne, Switzerland was officially opened in 7th,Dec. Zhongwen, Gou, director of General Administration of Sport of China and president of China Olympic Committee, together with Bach, president of International Olympic Committee(IOC) and Zaiqing, Yu, vice president of International Olympic Committee, cut the ribbon for the establishment of the liaison office.
In his speech, Mr. Zhongwen, Gou reviewed
the development of China Olympic Committee since its returning to international
Olympic family in 1979. He said that the China Olympic Committee would apply
the liaison office in Lausanne as a bridge and platform to strengthen
cooperation with the international sports community, actively participate in
international sports affairs and make greater contributions to the Olympic
movement.
Bach congratulated the establishment of the
liaison office of COC in Lausanne and spoke highly of China's achievements in
sports and its important status as a major sports country in the international
sports community.
The liaison office will promote direct
daily communication among China Olympic Committee, International Olympic Committee,
and other individual sports organizations, facilitating the preparations for
Beijing 2022 winter Olympics and winter Paralympics.
At the same time, the establishment of the liaison
office once again demonstrates the close cooperation between China Olympic Committee
and International Olympic Committee, as well as China's great contribution to
the promotion of Olympic movement. Bach expects Chinese Olympic Committee to
play a greater role in the Olympics and international sports affairs.
Lausanne
is known as the "Capital of Olympics ". In addition to the International
Olympic Committee, headquarters of 21 individual sports organizations among the
28 summer Olympic categories and 7 winter Olympic categories have located in or
around Lausanne. The establishment of the liaison office in Lausanne is an
important measure taken by the China Olympic Committee to strengthen
cooperation with international sports organizations and promote the "going
global" spirit of China sports.
