100 Children Torch Relay to Welcome Paris 2024 was held in Tong'an Baobab Tree Base

The 2024 Paris Olympic Games will be opened on July 26, in order to welcome the Paris Olympic Games, the museum will organize a series of activities. Among them, the “Olympic Glory - Paris Moments” special exhibition and the 2024 Paris Olympic Games Lecture co-hosted by Xiamen Olympic Museum and the Consulate General of France in Guangzhou were opened on May 30th in our museum.


On the Children's Day of June 1, which is full of hope and vitality, people gathered at the baobab tree base in Sanxiu Mountain to hold a torch relay ceremony for 100 children and to learn how the baobab trees grow from small seeds to a big tree. This activity is also one of the series of activities in support of the Paris Olympics, and the museum will also organize celebrations on Olympic Day and the opening day of the 2024 Olympic Games.

Ms. Yun Wu, deputy curator of the museum made a speech at the opening ceremony and expressed her warm welcome on behalf of the museum and the curator Mr. Ching-Kuo Wu. She said the 100 Children Torch Relay is a practice of Green Olympics, Peace, Solidarity and Friendship and hoped that young people will be inspired by the Olympic motto and this activity will allow more people to know about Olympics.

Mr. Zhiqiang Wang, General Manager of Xiamen Baobab Bio-technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. delivered a speech, in which he said: The purpose of this activity is to let children understand the history of the baobab tree, and to feel the tenacity of life and the power of growth by means of the torch relay.

Doves, as messengers of peace, are symbols of peace, friendship, unity and holiness, and the release of the dove of peace is also one of the traditions of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. The release of the dove of peace is also part of the opening ceremony.

Finally, the torch passing ceremony announced the official start, the leaders and guests and one hundred children holding bubble torch in the baobab tree base for the torch relay, the colorful bubbles bloomed in the sky.

After the ceremony, the teachers of the museum held a lecture on Olympics for the children. The kids actively joined in the class and answered the questions of the teachers and colored the Olympic mascots.
