At half past nine this morning, the 8th Cross
Strait Culture Industries Fair Sports Culture Session held its opening ceremony
in Xiamen Olympic Museum, which unveiled the lasting-14-day Sports Culture
Exhibition
This activity was hosted by Xiamen Olympic Museum and
supported by Xiamen CPPCC as well as Xiamen Municipal Tourism Department. In the
opening ceremony attended Dr. Ching-kuo Wu, member of the IOC Executive Board
and president of AIBA, Pan Shijian, Deputy President of Xiamen CPPCC, Sun
Jianhui, Deputy Director of Xiamen Governmental Office as well as other
officials and guests.
This Olympic Museum Sports Culture Session includes
Samaranch Postcards Exhibition, International Sports Collection Exhibition and
Olympic Sports and Culture Popularization and Education Special Exhibition
where the previous Olympic Posters will be presented as well. In aim of widely
spreading the Olympic histories, cultures and spirits to more people, today, Xiamen
Olympic Museum welcomes all the citizens for a visit for free
Additionally, as
Xiamen Olympic Museum, as an independent International non-profit
organization, is the first Olympic theme museum, authorized by the IOC and the Chinese
NOC and one of the 22 International Olympic Museum Network members. The museum
itself was planned, designed by Dr. Ching-kuo Wu, who is a member of the IOC
Executive Board, president of AIBA, world-well-known architect as well as the
museum’s curator. The museum has collected a rich list of Olympic Heritages in
aim of spreading and Olympic cultures and spirits to the public. Xiamen Olympic
Museum has been continually hosting this kind of activities for 7 years.
