Xiamen Olympic Museum is Titled “Young Volunteers Practice Base”

April 15, 2012 – Xiamen Olympic Museum won the titled of “Young Volunteers Practice Base”, as well as organized a training course for young volunteers. Ms. Yun Wu, the deputy director of the museum, Mr. Lu Hu, the Youth League Committee Secretary and tens of students from Materials and Engineering College of Huaqiao University attended the activity.
 
To further spread Olympic culture and spirit, to expand young volunteer team, and to play their role of developing public welfare, the museum, together with Materials and Engineering College of Huaqiao University, organized a training course for young volunteers. In the first place, the “Young Volunteers Practice Base” title awarding ceremony was completed in the lecture room of the museum, while, Ms. Wu gave a speech about the museum’s volunteers work during the four years. From its opening, the museum has provides social practice chances for hundreds of college students, and encouraged many students to join into the volunteer team to serve for the public, meanwhile, improve their capacity of all sides, such as their skills to serve for tourists. And then, Secretary Hu expressed his appreciation for the chances the museum creates for students, and encouraged more college students to take part in the Volunteer Services. After the ceremony, Ms. Wu led Secretary Hu visiting the museum.
 
And the staff of the museum organized the training course for students who registered for the volunteer services, including reception etiquette, explaining skills, and how to meet some emergencies and so on, to help them be competent to the volunteer services as soon as possible.
 
When the activity came to the end, students said they learned much Olympic knowledge through the training course. They also expressed their desires to join into volunteer services and make a difference for spreading Olympic culture and sprit.
