To celebrate the 1^st anniversary of 2008 Olympic Games’ complete success, strengthen sports collection exchange, popularize sports collection knowledge and promote sports collection industry to grow, Xiamen Olympic Museum held “2009 Olympic Collectible Trade Fair”  from August 22nd to 30^th. Olympic champions Yangling, Xing Aowei, Wang Liping, sports collectors, experts and scholars throughout the whole country joined together to participate in the opening ceremony.

This session’s exhibition was sponsored by Xiamen Olympic Museum, Sports Committee China Collector Association, Beijing  Collector  Association and Beijing Panjiayuan Antique Market. The exhibition and exchanges was hosted at the same period.

The exhibition took the theme of “Inheriting Olympic cultures, Carrying forward Olympic spirits, Promoting Olympic collection and Sharing Olympic glories”. The content was extremely rich. There were thousands of exhibits such as emblems, mascots, torches, medals and other Olympic elements. The exhibits also included personal collections of Mr. Ching-kuo Wu-International Olympic Committee member and president of international Boxing Union. The Olympic treasures he collected were the first Olympic stamp of 1896, the only square diploma, the first badge of 1924, the first relay torch of 1936, Chinese delegation medicine chest and successive Olympic Games collection, over 200 Olympic Games badges and souvenirs. The most extensive collections were Beijing Olympic which include tickets, badges, poster, gold jade medals, torches, bamboo slips used for the opening ceremony of Beijing Olympics and so on.

Jiangsu Sports Lottery Museum also participated in the fair. They displayed a full range and valuable scraping top lottery of open type with Olympic theme. The lottery theme covered Olympic mascot, sports items, torch relay route, Olympic Games city and stadium which possess political, ideological, intellectual, ornamental ,rich connotations and far reaching significance. It could be called the valuable cultural heritage left by the Olympic Games. Some lotteries Jiangsu Sports Lottery Museum provided were issued by German, Canada, US, South Korea, Britain and other sponsor countries. Lottery is an important component of China Sports Collection. It is issued by the authority. It possesses the characteristic of uniform number, anti-counterfeiting features, modern design, exquisitely print, release of short time and small quantity. Therefore, it has both values of collection and appreciation.

Lixiang, Deputy Curator of Xiamen Olympic Museum, said that China Sports business was flourishing. By collection exhibition of Olympic theme , we could spread the Olympic and sports cultures into everybody’s heart, which is of great significance.
