After Beijing Olympic Games, one of major tasks for Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (BOCOG) is to deal with the donation programs of Olympic materials. In order to promote the spirits and values of Beijing Olympics and Paralympics, BOCOG has recently held the second Donation Ceremony of Beijing Olympics and Paralympics materials, such as costumes and props for the opening & closing ceremony. In total, 96 representative museums and institutions from 31 provinces, municipalities, Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Region of China have received more than 5,600 pieces of Olympic materials.

Xiamen Olympic Museum is the only organization in Xiamen which received the donations, including 63 pieces of Olympic materials, such as Beijing Olympics and Paralympics torches, the uniform for the escort runner, costumes and props for the opening & closing ceremony, prize-awarding podium, certificates, Olympic “Fou” drum, and so on.

It is said that these donated Olympic materials have arrived at the Museum and will be exhibited to the public in the near future.
