On April 12nd, 2020, Mr. Shijian Pan, the former vice mayor of Xiamen City, and Tongxin Charity Association visited Xiamen Olympic Museum for HIBL exchange, accompanied by Ms. Yun Wu, the deputy curator of our museum.
The guests visited the past, present and future of the Olympic Games, the Olympic family, the treasure and sharing and other main exhibition halls and had a deep understanding of the Olympic collections of a XOM, especially in front of the Inscription Statue of " Perpetual Pace". Under the introduction of Mr. Shijian Pan, they learned the story of Mr. Ching-Kuo Wu, curator of Xiamen Olympic Museum, who helped Xiamen marathon to go international.
Mr. Shijian Pan shared with them also the history of our museum and the journey of our curator, Mr. Ching-Kuo Wu, in founding China's first Olympic Museum. He believed that when Xiamen people introduced their hometown, not only the beautiful scenery should be mentioned, but also the first Olympic Museum in China, which is a combination of Olympic culture and Olympic spirit. It is also an important medium to transmit Xiamen marathon culture to the world. While visiting, the public should not only see the cultural relics, but also the spirit and culture behind the Olympic Games., especially the young children.
Xiamen Olympic Museum and Tongxin Charity Association also made exchanges and shared opinions on the future cooperation on HIBL activities and juvenile education. Hopefully with the efforts of many organizations such as charity associations, more and more teenagers will be able to truly experience the Olympic spirit of harmony, respect, friendship, fairness and excellence through the development of Olympic HIBL activities.
