Joint Efforts of the Army and the Civilians to Propagandize Olympics and Opening Ceremony of Exhibition of Papercuts of Champions

n 3rd August,Xiamen Olympic Museum and Xiamen Municipal Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation jointly host a special activity to support the upcoming Rio Olympic Games and to express sincere appreciation to the folk artist Ms.Deng Rongrong and her husband Mr.Zhan Xiaoyong for their kind donation of the papercuts of Olympic Champions.
Before the opening ceremony, the soldiers from Guanyin mountain border armed police detachment and children sign their names on the message board. Besides, they also leave congratulatory messages for Chinese Olympic athletes.
The opening ceremony start at 9 o'clock. Firstly, the soldiers perform arrest techniques and teach the children and other audiences how to tackle and protect themselves. Then, children recite Chinese classics "disciple gauge" for audiences. As a new generation, they have the responsibilities to inherite and carry forward Chinese culture.
After the performance, Ms.Wu Yun, the vice-curator of our Museum makes a speech. She extends a warm welcome to the attendees and expresses sincere thanks to Ms.Deng and Mr.Zhan for their generous donation and support for Olympic movement. Then, the leaders invited come to the platform and play games with our audiences. And they also sign their names on the curtain behind the platform and show great support for the Chinese Olympic athletes.
And one of the most important highlight is the papercuts of 222 Olympic athletes since the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games made by 72-year-old Ms.Deng from Guizhou province for over one year. During the activity, Ms.Deng and Mr.Zhan also introduce and interprete their papercuts for the guests. Moreover, the children also learn paper-cutting and make interest works.
