On November 27 - 29, 2011, the 2011 Work Seminar on Popular Science Education Bases of Fujian Province was held in Xiamen. In the seminar, attenders exchanged for working experiences on the development and sharing of popular science education resources, the construction of science education talents, the design and organizing of unique popular science activities, the development of popular science education bases and so on.

XOM is an important base of popular science education in Fujian. The deputy curator of XOM, Wu Yun, also attended the seminar on behalf of the museum. Ms. Wu summarized the museum's achievements and experiences on popular science education from its opening. Popular science education for the youth is always regarded as one of the most important works of the museum. Through a variety of forms and channels, XOM propagandizes Olympic science knowledge to the vast visitors, especially to the teenagers, enhances their understanding of Olympic spirit, and promotes the development of Olympic Movement. In the course, the museum certainly encounters considerable difficulties which should be improved step by step. According to its actual status, referring to the successful cases and useful experiences of other bases, XOM will gradually enhance and perfect its work on popular science education.
