At noon of July 14th, “Dragon Ties Pass Down for Generations, China the Youthful”——Xiamen Sub-camp of Thousands of Young Taiwanese Summer Camp is holding the opening ceremony in XOM. Xiamen Municipal Taiwan Solidarity Union Chairwoman Lu Shao Xun is delivering the welcoming speech and presenting the camp flag in the opening ceremony. Around 30 undergraduates and postgraduates from Taiwan University, National Tsing Hua University and other institutions consist of the part in Xiamen Sub-camp.
After the opening ceremony, led by XOM's staff, campers visited each hall inside the museum, having an overall and systematic understanding of the Olympic history and current situation. They expressed the heartfelt admiration to IOC member Ching-Kuo Wu who has found this museum. They commented that it was their first time to view so many Olympic collectibles and know those Olympic stories. Cross-straight communication approaches are enhanced through the museum, which plays a key role in promoting exchanges for adolescents across the straight.
Through this camp opening ceremony, visit and communication, campers’ knowledge of Olympics as well as their understanding of XOM and Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu, curator of XOM were strengthened. Campers said that they would take the knowledge back and pass the information to junior fellows so that they can share the happiness.
