On the afternoon of April 7th, Philippine Sport General Administration Minister Ricardo Garcia, Director Jose Gomez and the party pay a visit to XOM. The Deputy Curator Wuyun receives them and makes the explanation personally.

Ms. Wuyun first introduces IOC member Wu Ching-kuo’s original intention of building Xiamen Olympic Museum, museum’s three-year-development, tourist reception, youth Olympic education and other relevant aspects. Then Ms. Wuyun shows Minister Garcia the main hall, four exhibition halls upstairs and the basement. In the first exhibition hall, when Ms. Wuyun introduces Paralympic Game champion Hou Bin’s story, the group is impressed and amazed at the 1.94-meter height that Hou Bin has cleared. They express sincere admiration to Hou Bin’s spirit of fearing no hardship and scaling the heights, saying it is an inspiration for everyone and it is of help to the adolescents’ growth. In the third exhibition hall, they have seen previous years Olympic torches, exhibits on the first Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, Guangzhou Asian Games and Beijing Olympic Games, etc. When arriving at the fourth exhibition hall, Ms. Wuyun introduces the ongoing Olympic 100-year commemorative stamps exhibition in detail. According to Ms. Wuyun, the stamps issued by the first modern Olympic Games in Athens in 1896 are of great value.

After the visit, Minister Garcia says museum’s plentiful collections, Olympic movies and other resources play an essential role in disseminating Olympic culture and promoting Olympic spirit.
