Xiamen has witnessed a great success for 2009 Xiamen International Marathon (XIM), the 7^th marathon race that has been held in Xiamen. Though the duration for each XIM was very short, people have enjoyed the charm and splendidness of this great event. Photography has played an important part in this sports event. Through this special visual language, the great achievements of XIM and its wonderful moments can be recorded and showed to the public.

 

More than 3,000 works from the public in total were submitted to the organizer of 2009 CCB Xiamen International Marathon Photography Contest, most of which are of high level of professional proficiency. Through strict screening procedure by the judges, 107 photos were awarded for 7 categories. These photos have not only recorded the splendid and memorable moments of 2009 XIM, but also reflected the author’s admiration for the Marathon spirit of “Participation” which has been vividly showed through either the marathon athletes or the photographers.

 

A major breakthrough has been made for 2009 CCB Xiamen International Marathon Photography Contest. The prize-winning works of this contest will be exhibited not only in China, but also among the OMN members. It is believed that XIM photography contest will become a well-known international event as XIM in the near future.
