Xiamen Olympic Museum Participated in the Workshop of the International Olympic Museums Network

On the occasion of the second anniversary of the success of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, the upgraded Beijing Olympic Museum reopened to the public. Xiamen Olympic Museum, as a member of the International Olympic Museums Network, was invited to attend the Opening Ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Museum on February 3rd and participate in the International Olympic Museum Alliance Workshop held on February 4th.
On February 4th, 2024, the OMN Workshop was held at the Beijing Olympic Museum. Ms. Angelita Teo, Director of the IOC's Olympic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Director of the International Olympic Museums Network and Curator of the Lausanne Olympic Museum, Ms. Frederic Jamoli, Head of the International Cultural Affairs of OC Culture and Heritage Committee, Ms. Fuying Wang , IOC Digital Media and Marketing Department, and representatives of the OMN members including China Sports Museum (China Olympic Museum), Beijing Olympic Museum, Xiamen Olympic Museum, Nanjing Olympic Museum, Samaranch Memorial and Tianjin D. Dagang Olympic Museum attended the meeting. Mr. Kun Wang, Deputy Director of Beijing Olympic City Development Promotion Association, presided over the meeting.
In the following session, Ms. Angelita Teo made a presentation on "Olympic Values at the heart of Olympic Museum Programming", and Ms. Fuying Wang gave a presentation on "OVEP Digital Engagement in China". Finally, the members discussed, summarized and discussed the next work plan of the network.
Xiamen Olympic Museum, one of the twenty-eight members of the International Olympic Museums Network, is a non-profitable international organization approved by International Olympic Committee and China Olympic Committee. It is the first Olympic Museum entitled “Olympics” in China and the national third-grade museum. The museum was planned, designed and founded by former International Olympic Committee Member, Mr.Ching-kuo Wu, who is also a world-renowned architecture expert and the curator of our Museum. The museum has rich collections of Olympic culture relics with the purpose of promoting Olympic cultures, spirits and making more people to know, experience and share Olympic history and glory.
