Xiamen Olympic Museum Is Titled Excellent Popular Science Education Base

September 24, 2012- Xiamen Olympic Museum was listed in Xiamen Ten Excellent Popular Science Education Bases.
“Firefly Cup” ---- the Third Session of Xiamen Ten Excellent Popular Science Education Bases, held by Xiamen Municipal Propaganda Department and Xiamen Science and Technology Association consisted of several steps: registration, re-evaluation, experts’ evaluation, citizens’ on-spot experience and votes, from July through September, 2012, the final ten excellent popular science education bases were chosen, including Xiamen Olympic Museum.
Although Xiamen Olympic Museum was set up only for four years, it has won many glories including Fujian Province Popular Science Education Base, Xiamen City Popular Science Education Base, Siming District Popular Science Education Base, which were confirmations for the museum’s strive on the propaganda of Olympic popular science in the passed four years.
Since its opening day, the museum has been aimed at transmitting Olympic culture and spreading Olympic spirit. And it has gotten considerable achievement through holding many innovation activities, such as lectures on Olympic popular science, Olympic theme exhibitions, Olympic knowledge contests, the youngsters love outreach, Olympics into communities, and summer camps, etc.. At the same time, the museum provides a chance for more citizens, especially the teenagers, to learn a further knowledge of Olympic popular science and use what they have learnt in their daily life.
When interviewed by the medium, the museum’s deputy director, Ms. Yun Wu, stated that the museum would continue to regard Olympic science popularization as one of its most important works, to make more tourists, especially the youngsters, understand Olympics, and it will further strive for Olympic science popularization and make new contributions for Olympic movement by taking more creative working methods, perfecting educational facilities, and enriching popular science content in the future.
