Dr Ching-Kuo Wu, IOC Member, AIBA President, and Curator of Xiamen Olympic Museum, has been elected to be the representative of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) on the International Olympic Committee Executive Board.
The election took place at the ASOIF General Assembly, and Dr Wu won by competing against Mr Pat McQuaid, President of the International Cycling Union (UCI).

Today I am very proud to be able to contribute to the development and the protection all of our International Federation interests. Together with the ASOIF President, I will listen to all of you and defend your needs with dedication and with all my heart. I promise that I will do everything I can to bring our sports to the pinnacle of the Olympic movement", stated Dr Wu after his election at the General Assembly.
In addition, President Wu said, "The result of today's election shows the trust from my International Federation colleagues who have witnessed the great success and credibility of AIBA and the development of the sport of boxing. I will continue to spend my time and efforts in AIBA, now additionally for the success of ASOIF, too."
This nomination from ASOIF will now have to be ratified by the IOC during its upcoming session in July in London.
