XOM Attends “2011 Fujian Province Museum Forum”

2011 Fujian Province Museum Forum” hosted by Fujian Provincial Bureau of Cultural Relics, Quanzhou Municipal Culture, Radio and TV Press and Publications Bureau is held in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province from May 20th to May 22nd. This forum focuses on 5.18 International Museum Day’s theme ‘museum and memory’, carries on an in-depth study of museum as human civilization memory, major base of tradition and innovation, museum’s social responsibility and its approach to schools, communities, as well as the development and support of industrial museums and privately-owned museums. This forum aims to further strengthen the communication and study among museums, protect human beings’ precious and delicate cultural heritages together and promote the sustainable development of the museum industry in the province. The major participants of this forum are from Fujian Province. Some museum delegates are from Hong Kong or Taiwan.

 

As the first Olympic Museum entitled “Olympics” in China, XOM’s Vice Curator Wuyun also attends the forum. XOM has been devoting to spreading Olympic culture, disseminating Olympic technical knowledge and exploring its own development for the past three years since it opened. It has excelled in many aspects and was successively awarded the title of Top Ten Privately-owned Museums, Popular Science Education Base and Olympic Education Base. Vast innovations and bold tries have been made in museum’s daily operation and future development. Some experience is gained. Difficulties are existed. In the forum, Vice Curator Wuyun makes an extensive communication and in-depth discussion with other curators in museum’s operating experience and existed problems. The officers in attendance express affirmation and praise for XOM’s three-year development.
