Museum is a bridge in cultural exchanges and a force to promote social development.  Museums nowadays can make a positive contribution to the construction of a better and more harmonious world. With the help of museums, people can achieve a harmonious and peaceful life. According to the definition in the constitution of International Council of Museums , A museum is a non-profit making, permanent institution in the service of society and of its development, and open to the public, which acquires, conserves, researches, communicates and exhibits, for purposes of study, education and enjoyment, material evidence of people and their environment.

  Museum cultural services cover many aspects, and the interpretation and explanation service is on the top. On September 27th, Xiamen Olympic Museum organized a staff training interpretation and explanation service. XOM provides multi-linguial interpretation and explanation service in Mandrain Chinese, English and Minnan Dialect. Regular training will be held to improve employees’ capability and the overall service quality level.

  The training can be divided into two parts——XOM knowledge training and etiquette training. The emphasis was put on introduction of all the exhibition halls, the interpretation and explanation of our recent thematic or temporary exhibitions, such as the Folk Sports Art Exhibition, the thematic Exhibition Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of people’s republic of China, ”Road of Champion” Medals Exhibitionand so on. In the part of etiquette training, analysis was made on the use of voice and emotion, artistic expression and body language for better communication of message and feelings.

  The training was very helpful. Xiamen Olympic Museum, as a 4A-level scenic spot, improvements must be made not only on our hardware facilities, but also on our service, so that the to ensure the tourists with best travel experience.
