Mr. Ching-Kuo Wu Attended the On-The-Spot Inspection of the IOC Coordination Committee for Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games

Mr. Ching-Kuo Wu, member of the International Olympic Committee, founder and curator of the Xiamen Olympic museum, visited the venues of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games on July 17th.


A. New Venues:

Beijing:

1. The lifting of the glass curtain wall of the national speedskating hall in Beijing has begun.

2. The structure of Beijing Winter Olympic village is expected to be capped by the end of the year and completed by the end of 2020.

3. The first section of steel truss beam of the main steel structure of Shougang ski jumping platform has been lifted, and the main construction is expected to be completed within this year.

4.The contruction of Beijing Capital Gymnasium short track speed skating hall is going well.


Members of the IOC coordination committee for Beijing 2022 winter Olympic Games listen to a lecture at the Yanqing competition area.


1. The national alpine skiing center, national luge center and other newly built venues are under construction,with the 7.9-kilometer tunnel through.

2. The main projects of the national cross-country ski center in Zhangjiakou, biathlon center and Zhangjiakou Olympic village will be completed by the end of this year.

3. Yunding ski park has completed u-shaped course, slopestyle, parallel giant slalomt track and held World Cup events. Three more tracks will be completed by the end of the year to meet test requirements.


B. Reconstruction of venues

The renovation of the curling venues of winter Olympics by the national aquatics center is under construction. The national stadium and the capital gymnasium renovation have also been fully implemented.


C. Infrastructure

The Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway and Jingli high-speed railway will be completed by the end of this year.


Most of the venues will meet test requirements by the end of this year or around June, 2020, when they will also be ready to host the World Cup or world championships.
