Mr. Ching-Kuo Wu, Member of IOC and Chairman of IOC Culture and Olympic Heritage Commission, Was Invited to Attend the 11th Straits Forum-- Caring For the Growth of the Next Generation Forum

On June 15th, 2019, Mr. Ching-Kuo Wu, member of IOC, Chairman of IOC Culture and Olympic Heritage Commission, and curator of Xiamen Olympic museum, was invited to attend the 11th Straits Forum-- Caring For the Growth of the Next Generation Forum.

Strait forum is a cross-strait non-governmental grand exchange event jointly initiated and founded in 2009 by the Fujian provincial government, the Taiwan affairs office and dozens of cross-strait related units and non-governmental organizations, being identified as” Folk, Grassroots and Extensive “. Now in its 11th year, the number of organizers has increased from 54 at the beginning to 82 this year, becoming more and more popular with people on both sides of the straits. The forum has become one of the important exchanges events to promote and drive the peaceful development of cross-straits relations and also the cross-strait exchanges carnival with the largest number of institutions, the largest scale of activities, the widest scope and the strongest folk feature.


During the conference Ms. Xiulian Gu, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Tenth National People's Congress (NPC) , director of China Cares for the Next Generation Working Committee and Mr.Shenyang Chen,section chief of the organization department of Xiamen Municipal Committee Executive Commission, and other leaders delivered important speeches.

The excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation, "family culture", contains the ideological essence and moral essence of family education, family customs and family construction, which is the precious wealth of cross-strait integration for the benefit of future generations, and also an important foundation for the cultural identity, belief identity and life practice of young people on both sides of the straits. The theme of this conference was to step into a new era and foster a new era of great revival of the Chinese nation.


Mr.Ching-Kuo Wu, member of IOC,Chairman of  IOC culture and the Olympic heritage Commission delivered a speech at the conference, he said: "It is the 11th forum on Caring For the Growth of the Next Generation. I participated in each session of the forum.  Olympics attaches great importance to education, through the forum, a lot of new issues about education, especially the Olympic education, are among the focus of the work we promote, and we hope the Olympic culture and the essence can affect more and more teenagers. "

As a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Mr. Ching-Kuo Wu has been committed to promoting cross-straits cultural exchanges among youth for long-term and has made positive contributions to the dissemination and development of Olympic culture. Xiamen Olympic museum, personally designed and founded by Mr. Ching-Kuo Wu, is the first museum named as Olympic museum, located in the beautiful city Xiamen,the egret island. It has been 11 years since its opening in 2008. Every year, Xiamen Olympic museum organizations various kinds of theme activities for teenage culture spread and popularization, including the Olympic knowledge interlocution, Olympic project experiencing and cultural exchange across the straits.


Through various activities and exhibitions, Xiamen Olympic museum conveys the spirit of "fair competition" and "perseverance" of the Olympic culture to more families, so that children can become better selves and more responsible master of the new era in a better cultural atmosphere.
