The IOC Evaluation Commission members for the 2016 Games have arrived in Rio to inspect the city's bid for the 2016 Olympics on April 27, 2009. The delegation is led by Moroccan Nawal El Moutawake, and also consists of other 12 members, including Mr. Ching-kuo Wu, the Director of Xiamen Olympic Museum.
The inspectors were received a warm welcome from Brazil political leaders at all levels, including Brazil’s President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. During their stay in Rio, they have looked at Rio's sports venues and its plans for security, transportation and the overall infrastructure of the city.

Rio 2016 bidding team has also showed their great confidence and says the Olympics should be held in South America for the first time.

The seven-day visit was the third for the 13-member evaluation commission, which headed to Madrid on Sunday for the final inspection before the I.O.C. makes its decision, which is scheduled to be announced on Oct. 2, 2009.
